Earlier this year, American GQ gave Steve a spot in the top-15 of worst dressed ‘nerds’, but the black turtleneck (brand St. Croix) sweater sales have doubled since Steve Jobs has passed away.
With no exception, the Apple CEO would wear a black turtleneck sweater, 501 Levi Strauss jeans and white sneakers when representing the latest Apple products.
We all know Steve was blessed with an exceptional creative mind that allowed him to create sleek and elegant must-haves, for the whole world to want. We are also well aware of his sharp eye for the future of technology, as if being lead by an inner super-inventive voice. The Apple CEO has always chosen the paths that were renewing and unexpected. His can’t-live-without inventions have always been developing and improving, but his outfit has been steady as a rock. But isn’t that what makes an icon? When thinking of a true style icon, when did they ever change their style? What characteristics pop up in your mind when thinking of Marilyn Monroe, Coco Chanel, Mick Jagger, Karl Lagerfeld, Twiggy or Marlon Brando’s look?
A person with a strong sense of identity dares to dress characteristically. Weather a turtleneck looks charming or not, Steve; I salute you.
