Once upon a time, in a land far far away, called the Canary Islands, a boy called Manolo Blahnik was born nnd he grew up to be a king. A shoe king! He would design the most beautiful pairs of shoes, with towering heels, fanciful feathers and satin fabrics, from dusk till dawn. All over the world, women would adore him for his wonderful designs.

Many will agree parading on Manolo Blahnik’s heels is like a fairy tale itself, which is exactly the feeling shoe-design genius Manolo Blahnik wants to give his buyers. But the shoes are only like magic because the man who makes them is magic. Mr Blahnik looks at his life as being a true fairy tale and wanted to express his experience in a fairy tale book of his own.

With a little help of fashion journalist Camilla Morton, the story Manolo Blahnik and the Tale of the Elves and the Shoemaker: A Fashion Fairy Tale Memoir has become a fantasy’s reality. Illustrations have been drawn by the designer himself.
