With a remarkable 17009 stores in 50 countries, Starbucks is without a doubt the largest coffee-chain on the planet. To celebrate it’s 40th birthday, Alexander Wang, Sophie Theallet and Billy Reid have designed a T-shirt for coffee-giant Starbucks.
All three designers have once won the CDFA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award and because Starbucks supports the award – to stimulate beginning designers – it was obvious who Starbucks would choose as their birthday present designers.
Alexander Wang, favorite of Michelle Obama, came up with the most original idea. According to InStyle, Alexander Wang said of his design, “The first thing we thought of was what everyone tries to avoid—spilled coffee on a T-shirt.” Indeed, after seeing the t-shirt, it certainly looks like something we wouldn’t want to happen on a busy, early morning.
The limited edition t-shirts will be sold for $85 in stores as well as online. Or you could get a plane white T, creatively spill coffee over it, call it your own design and be totally up to date. (Good luck with copying the Starbucks logo though, could be tricky.)
